Feng-shui and Asian customs have educated us on the symbolism of having Mandarin duck artwork at home. These marvelous mandarin ducks are not only eye-catching small ducks, they also bond for life. It is therefore they have come to symbolize love, loyalty, and friendship. Seeing a picture of the ducks stores an image in our mind of being with a partner; it confirms bonding and it strengthens a desire to be a couple. It is therefore that Feng-shui or Asian homes often show a picture of the mandarin ducks closely together.

I have done many mandarin duck commissions. Sometimes I was asked for a mandarin duck couple, other times customers had more preferences like ‘both left-facing, with lotus flowers, swimming, no legs visible, drake left side’. If left to me, I paint them in or near a duck pond that has a few lotus flowers (for perspective), sitting closely together in a synchronized position. I accept monochromatic commissions but also full colour ones.

After I have accepted the commission, I will send photos of work-in-progress. Only when a customer is 100% happy with the artwork will I ship the artwork in an artist tube (brand new and please re-use it or give it to an art student). Shipping is free and will be done with Track & Trace.

I work on Arches Satin Grain, size:

31-41 cm i.e. 12-16 inches (or)

36-51 cm i.e. 14-20 inches.

Larger artwork will have an adjusted price.
